Second Church of Christ, Scientist, Bellevue.

  • Sunday Services, every Sunday, 10:00 - 11:00 AM

Sunday services are held every Sunday of the year. We join together to pray, sing hymns, and hear a lesson-sermon from our Pastor, the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, which was first published in 1875.

    Church auditorium

Students of Christian Science study the weekly Bible lesson-sermon during the previous week and bring to the service their prayerful thought, insight and inspiration. The members expect their prayers bless the congregation and the community.

Here is the order of our Sunday Services, as outlined by The Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy:

    Sunday Services

    1. Hymn.
    2. Reading a Scriptural Selection.
    3. Silent Prayer, followed by the audible repetition of the Lord's Prayer with its spiritual interpretation.
    4. Hymn.
    5. Announcing necessary notices.
    6. Solo.
    7. Reading the Explanatory Note on first leaf of Quarterly.
    8. Announcing the subject of the Lesson-Sermon, and reading the Golden Text.
    9. Reading the Scriptural Selection, entitled "Responsive Reading," alternately by the First Reader and the congregation.
    10. Reading the Lesson-Sermon. (After the Second Reader reads the BIBLE references of the first Section of the Lesson, the First Reader makes the following announcement: "As announced in the explanatory note, I shall now read correlative passages from the Christian Science textbook, SCIENCE AND HEALTH WITH KEY TO THE SCRIPTURES, by Mary Baker Eddy.")
    11. Collection.
    12. Hymn.
    13. Reading the Scientific Statement of Being, and the correlative SCRIPTURE according to I John 3:1-3.

    Sunday School

    Sunday School students

Sunday School meets at the same time as the Church service. It is an opportunity for young people, under twenty, to learn about the Bible and its promises of salvation and protection.

The classes cater to school grade, and begin with fundamentals understanding God, and our relationship to Him. The classes begin by focusing on the Ten Commandments, the Lord's Prayer and the Sermon on the Mount, and progress to understanding the deeper spiritual sense of the Bible through studying the weekly Bible Lesson that is read in Sunday Services.

We also provide child care for children too young to attend Sunday School or church services.

We'd love to have you and your children join us at church!
